Dear prospective applicant,
I could write a huge amount about the changes that we have made at CHCC, the journey we are on, and that we are now in the top 12% of school nationally for progress.
However, this post is about more than that, it is about making a difference to the lives of a whole community with children at the heart of it. We want to be one of the best schools in the country, not just for results but also for developing the character of and, enabling our students to be positive contributors to society and for the service that we offer the wider community.
We are a strong group of governors, with a wide-ranging set of skills between us. We are looking to further strengthen the Governing Body and are recruiting additional governors that will help take us to the next level. In particular but not exclusively, we are looking for highly skilled individuals with expertise in school finance, the faculties of law or finance.
As a governing body we attempt to lead with a set of clear values and principles that underpin our challenge and support to the senior team and the Principal. You will need to be able to align with the values of Trust, Honesty, Integrity, Support and Tolerance, as we lead through these as a governing body.
We are looking for committed, skilled and talented individuals from the local community that want to make a genuine difference to the lives of the children in our care.
This is a voluntary position but one that is immensely rewarding as we are building a community from the bottom up and influencing the lives of thousands of people.
We serve over 200 staff and 1500 students, so your ability to understand different groups of people in a dynamic environment is paramount and a key part of the role.
Our mission is simple, we want every student to be the best that they can be, thrive in the best possible career and contribute positively to society.
You will see from our site that our three key values permeate all that we do and have allowed us to grow from strength to strength:
We are looking for the role to start as soon as possible and there will be specific training for the successful individual.
We have organised an opportunity to meet informally with governors on 5th September at 5pm, where you can ask any questions about the role and meet with myself and other senior leaders. This is an informal meeting, but it will help you to understand more about the role and to decide whether this role is for you.
If you are unable to attend and would like an informal chat about the role, please contact Sinead via email who will organise a conversation.
Should you wish to apply for the role please provide a response to the question below on no more than 1 side of A4
Why do you want to be a governor at CHCC and what sills and qualities will you bring to the role?
Deadline is Friday September 9th at 9am.
