Eteach are helping a top Secondary School and Sixth Form with their search for a Head of Department in Music.
This role is a full-time permanent position starting as soon as possible.
Salary will be in line with main pay scale and an additional TLR2b on top.
The school is looking for someone who is a highly experienced teacher of Music with a great skill-set looking to progress in their career into middle leadership.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
To be accountable for the highest standards of pupil achievement within the Music area, monitoring and evaluation of pupil achievement and setting targets for improvement.
To effectively line manage Teachers of Music.
To take responsibility for, and to be accountable for, the day-to-day operation of provision made by the school for the pupils within Music.
To have clear and high expectations of pupil progress and behaviour within the specified areas and the wider school.
To lead in promoting the inclusion of children with SEN in the life of the school.
To lead the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies, assessment, and teaching and learning strategies in Music.
To manage the budget devolved to the area ensuring its efficient use and that limits are not exceeded.
