We are looking for an exceptional leader to take this school forward into the next decade. Riversides School is a 70 place school for children and young people with a educational, health and care plan for social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) aged 7 – 16, located over two sites in Worcester.
The staff team (of approx. 45 staff) is dedicated and committed to ensuring every young person can thrive by offering a tailored curriculum to meet individual needs. Our students are fabulous and inspire us every day and we need to find the right person with the drive and determination to ensure the school continues to provide a world class education, and lead us into the 2020's.
We are currently under an Executive Head model with Kingfisher School but strongly believe that we need a Head Teacher in both schools. We are now looking for an experienced headteacher who would be able to take the school forward and working with the outgoing Executive Head cement the excellent practice already in place and enhance the School Improvement Committee in the Trust.
Our overall objective is to provide high quality educational experiences for every student. The students are at the heart of our learning community and we strive together to ensure their diverse needs are met and that every young person achieves success.
The challenge for the next Headteacher of Riversides will be to deliver and sustain educational excellence.
Riversides School is part of Advance Trust, a Multi Academy Trust of specialist and alternative provision in Worcestershire. Advance Trust believes that everyone deserves the best possible opportunities in their formative years and we work together collaboratively to ensure every young person achieves their personal goals and potential. We believe that we can become the catalyst for social change and work with our communities and families to ensure the best learning conditions for all of our young people.
If you share our ambition and if our core purposes below resonate with your values, we would like to hear from you:
• We share unshakeable faith that every child and young person will grow and thrive - given the right conditions. We promise to seek and provide the right conditions for every child and young person in our schools so that they can live safe, healthy and productive adult lives.
• We are committed to the concept of ‘life-long learning’ and will seek to unleash the untapped potential in every child, young person and adult within Advance Trust.
• We are committed to including, empowering and uplifting the families and carers of children and young people.
The new Headteacher would ideally be in place from April 2020. The Headteacher will work closely with the Local Governing Body, Advance Trust’s Executive Principal, and other Head Teachers within Advance Trust to continue to provide outstanding provision for children and families.
