Our valued and respected Headteacher is retiring at the end of December (having kindly postponed her original retirement date of July due to the corona virus). She has energetically led the school through several years of self-improvement, culminating in a strong good judgement by OFSTED in May 2019. The Governors are seeking to appoint an ambitious, enthusiastic and inspiring leader to steer the school on the next stage of its journey.
The school is at an exciting point in its journey. Our “Nurture, Inspire, Flourish” motto permeates all that we do. Excellent processes and structures are established ensuring outstanding behaviour and opportunities for learning. The priority is now to translate these structures into outstanding results throughout the school. This is an excellent prospect for an ambitious and visionary leader. Whilst being extremely well supported, there is scope for making a personal impact.
You will lead a committed, hardworking and close-knit workforce, supported by an active Governing Body and strong Senior Leadership Team. An asset that has only been reinforced by school staff’s response to the challenges presented by school closures.
Courtney Primary School has beautiful, well-kept modern buildings and stunning views. We pride ourselves on our outstanding display boards and library which act both as a stimuli for learning and also as a statement of intent for the high standards we ask of our pupils and our staff. The school is one form entry and, as a result, has a wonderful family feel. Community ties run deep and staff are exceptionally committed to providing the best for each pupil and member of staff.
We are welcoming virtual visits to the school. Although more limited, potential candidates will have the opportunity to talk to at least 2 members of the SLT and be taken on a virtual tour of the building. To organise a visit please contact the school office. Visit dates and times to be arranged on request.
Closing date: 3rd September 2020
