We are seeking to appoint 2 passionate, caring and dynamic higher-level teaching assistants with a passion for working with pupils with additional leaning needs. Successful applicants would be flexible in working in classes across the school. Roles may include providing additional support in covering teachers planning and preparation time (PPA) as well as supporting pupils with particularly intense complex needs.
Ty Gwyn supports pupils aged 3-19 with autism and /or profound and complex needs. The school is federated with Riverbank and Woodlands High School within the Western Learning Federation. We are proud that the school has been recognised as a Pioneer and Innovation school for its work on the new curriculum and professional learning. We pride ourselves on our positive, inclusive and welcoming ethos. This ethos has been recognised by investors in people who has awarded us the highest achieving Platinum Award.
The three federated schools are progressing with their exciting journey. The positions will be based in Ty Gwyn School; however, as standard practice, newly appointed members of staff will be employed by the Federation.
Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
