We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly organised HLTA to work full time (8am – 4pm, Monday to Friday) term time only + 5 days. The role requires an individual with good experience in delivering learning/interventions to students aged 11-16, including students with Special Educational Needs, learning difficulties and those who struggle with literacy/numeracy.
You will take responsibility for planning, delivering and evaluating high-quality interventions, and for leading a group of Learning Support Assistants to carry out the interventions effectively. This requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the confidence to work effectively within the SENDCo, Learning Support Team, Numeracy Intervention Teacher, and with teachers and parents. The HLTA must be able to manipulate spreadsheets and keep excellent records of progress, as well as be keen to work with evidence-informed practice.
You must be able to build great relationships with students and staff, be calm and controlled, and be able to follow our behaviour and reward systems consistently. You may be required to cover some lessons and tutor time. You will be working within a busy school environment and will need to have high expectations of our learners.

This role has been identified as falling within the definition of requiring fluency in spoken English. You will be required to speak English with confidence and be able to conduct a conversation and answer questions for extended periods of time.
The ability to speak a community language such as Somali, Polish or Arabic, in addition to English, is desirable.
