The School of Building Services is looking for an hourly paid lecturer who can use their industry knowledge to help our budding Carpenters excel.
Are you a qualified and experienced Carpentry lecturer or do you have excellent experience in the industry, ideally from site or bench carpentry background. If so, this could be the role for you. This post will join a supportive and enthusiastic team based at our Hemel Hempstead campus.
We are looking to recruit an innovative and creative individual with excellent industry experience and knowledge, to ensure our students are prepared for the world of work and qualified to industry requirements. Ideally we are looking for someone with trade specific NVQ qualifications in Carpentry. If you have an Assessor or IQA award this would also be beneficial, however not essential.
The successful candidate will be required to deliver qualifications to students in both theory and practical applications and will be teaching on full-time Level1 and Level 2 courses and across our apprenticeship programme.
As well as the relevant experience, we are looking for someone with an enthusiasm for helping people of all ages and abilities to achieve their potential. You will need to be proactive, professional and above all be able to support students to develop in their vocation and wider employability skills, such as English and Maths.
Whilst teaching experience would be a benefit, it is not essential as teacher training is provided if you meet our other requirements. The right individual needs to be flexible in their approach and willing to maintain an up-to-date understanding of developments within the construction industry.
The closing date for applications is Friday 6 November 2020.
The successful candidate will join the Building Services team at Hemel Campus.
