Hawksworth wood Primary School is a friendly, vibrant, forward thinking primary school located on the fringe of the Kirkstall area of Leeds.
We are seeking a dedicated, motivated individual who is enthusiastic and promotes confidence in our pupils and will join us in our drive for excellence.
An Ofsted evaluated GOOD school we have recently expanded to provide 60 places per year group. Our newly refurbished building and newly built classrooms and facilities are amazing and enhance the educational provision we offer our wonderful pupils.
This post will require you to work across our whole school with children from the ages of 4-11, duties will be varied each week to suit the needs of our school community.
The role will also focus around supporting and providing bespoke nurture intervention for pupils across school with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties who at times display challenging behaviours.
We pride ourselves in really knowing our children in school. We take the time to understand what matters to them and how each child is different and unique. Therefore it is crucial that you have the ability to look beyond the behaviours that a child may exhibit and see the child and their needs.
You will also require skills that enable you to effectively communicate and build relationships with our children’s parents and families. Where needed this will involve effectively planning and delivering Early Help Plans or Family support work.
Experience in working with families would be beneficial.
The successful applicant will be:
• patient, kind and calm – even when under pressure!
• professional and able to be a good role model
• able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders and staff
• committed to working with and supporting vulnerable pupils and their families
• able to work effectively with families to deliver early help plans and family support programmes.
If this is you, and you are considering making an application we strongly encourage you come and visit us. To do so please contact the school office to arrange an appointment with the Headteacher, Abi Owen.
