This role is a fixed term project role brought about due to the College securing project funding to pilot the extended work placements as part of the T Level Developments.
The post-holder will be based with the Employer Engagement team. In this role, they will support the Work Experience Business Development Advisors in their liaison with employers to build an increased client base of employers which will secure extended work placement opportunities for students. They will also link closely to the various curriculum teams involved in the project in order to identify potential new opportunities for placements.
In addition, the post-holder will liaise with the curriculum teams in relation to the development of appropriate “outcomes” from work placement, ensuring these link into the student’s programme of study. They will contribute to the preparation of students via 1-1 and group talks, development of materials etc that will support students to become ready for work placement.
The post-holder will undertake regular and routine visits to students on extended work placements, liaising with the employer and ensuring the student is safe, well and monitor that they are making good progress within the placement in relation to their agreed “outcomes”. They will record visits appropriately using college systems.

•Encourage and maintain an environment where students feel secure, are encouraged to talk, and are listened to
•Ensure students know that there are staff in the College whom they can approach if they are worried
•Include opportunities in the curriculum for students to develop the skills they need to recognise and stay safe from abuse
•All staff will be required to undertake appropriate safeguarding induction and training.
