JOB TITLE: Information Specialist
Directorate: Digital Technologies
Salary: Scale 5/6, SU22 – SU28
The Directorate of Digital Technologies is committed to enhancing the digital skills of our staff and students as a key theme within our Digital Strategy, and is looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to join a team of innovative, responsive & customer-focused staff within the Academic Services team. Combining academic librarianship with digital technology, the role is dynamic and exciting, working with staff, students and the wider community, to develop engaging content and resources to support teaching and learning, up to postgraduate level.
Key responsibilities will include working with both curriculum and business services to support staff in their use of digital technologies, evaluating emerging technologies and turning them into solutions to enhance teaching, learning and working practices across the organisation, creating engaging online content and supporting academic colleagues to do the same. The role also involves delivering training workshops and webinars to staff and students, including library and information skills training. The successful candidate will be an innovator, who is able to work collaboratively with staff and students, having experience of Virtual Learning Environments and applications used to support teaching and learning.
You will have a professional qualification in librarianship/information science and/or a teaching qualification, experience of working with digital technologies and an understanding of the types of resources (virtual and physical) needed to support teaching, learning and assessment
