Pivot Academy is expanding, join us!
At Pivot we believe children deserve better. In our Academies we teach and support children and young people from Key Stages 1 – 5 who have been excluded from school, for whom mainstream education is simply not working, or those with an EHCP who require a specialist placement. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some of the most complex and challenging children, many of whom come to us with some really traumatic backgrounds. We are doing great things – but we have so much more to do.
Even before the pandemic the demand for good quality provision far exceeded supply. The past year has widened the gap even more – and we are stepping up to the challenge.
Our Day 6 provision at Bradley is a centre specifically for KS4 children who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school. Our curriculum is based on core academics, creativity and personal development but also has a clear focus on developing children's softer skills. Our aim in Day 6 is to support students academically and socially and to prepare them for transition back into mainstream school and we are expanding this provision to be able to offer additional capacity for these students.
For our expanding provision, we are seeking two enthusiastic and dedicated Instructors who have experience in teaching small groups of students with SEMH needs. As an Instructor, you will need to be able to build strong relationships with these children and use intuitive skills to uncover reasons for challenging behaviours whilst remaining calm in your approach. It is essential you are able to adapt your practice to the strengths of the individual both in and outside the classroom, whilst working with a skilled and supportive team of teaching and support staff to achieve high standards and the best outcomes for young people.
Working at Pivot will give you a real chance to change our student’s lives and we truly believe you will find working here a rewarding experience. These roles will provide a great opportunity for those wishing to develop a career within teaching.
