Inspiring and Enthusiastic GCSE / FS Maths Intervention Tutor
Salary: £19,008 - £19,827 (A17-A20)
Status: Fixed term to the end of the academic year, term time only.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and energetic intervention tutor to support the Maths and English Department to deliver high quality learning interventions and support in the Study Centre.
The role includes providing:
in-class support to English/maths students
assignment support work
mentoring and coaching to support students achieving their potential
additional learning opportunities including small group support
Stretch and challenge and reading interventions
on-line support in English/maths during on-line sessions
online and onsite small group intervention sessions
support and over see students in the Study Centre to assist the College’s blended delivery model

If you share that commitment, we need you to help support us in promoting the importance of maths and English across the college and raising the standard of maths and English delivery from our centralised Department. The majority of the students you will support are GCSE re-takers and Functional Skills learners so the ability to inspire and motivate is key, along with patience and the ability to build good rapports with students. You may also be required to teach Functional skills Maths.
Please note this role constitutes ‘regulated activity’ as defined by the Protection of Freedom Act 2012. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with barred list information prior to starting employment. You must have the right to work in the UK and will be required to provide evidence to support this.
