I would like to thank you for your interest in this very exciting role as a nurture teacher at Ysgol Cwm Brombil, an all-through school which serves the communities of Margam and the Upper Afan Valley.
This is a new role that we hope will support some of our students as they move from Primary phase into Key Stage 3. The main purpose of our curriculum Nurture group is to provide a safe, predictable and supportive class for pupils to enjoy their learning and catch up with key literacy and numeracy skills. Pupils will follow a more differentiated curriculum and have a specific focus on social skills, developing confidence and promoting independence. The aim of the group is to support pupils with securing the basics and bridging the achievement gap to enable them to ultimately transition into their option choices at the beginning of Year 9.
We are looking for an outstanding teacher who can work with us to see the realisation of our shared vision for the pupils, staff, parents/carers and the wider community. We are aspirational for our pupils and we will encourage them to aspire, believe and achieve so that they are able to leave school with success and value. We are determined to ensure that the learning experience will be vibrant, exciting, and fully inclusive and will provide a truly all-through provision.
We also have the same aspirations for our staff and will ensure high quality continuing professional development, to grow excellent practitioners and leaders, as well as creating opportunities for career development.
The closing date for applications is 12.30 pm on Monday 12th April 2021. Shortlisting will take place that week and the interview process will take place the week commencing Monday 19th April 2021.
We very much hope that the opportunities and challenges facing us as we develop the new school will excite you, as they do us, and lead to you submitting an application.
