About Millfield LEAD Academy
Welcome to Millfield LEAD Academy and thank you for showing an interest in our KS2 maternity cover class teacher vacancy. Millfield LEAD Academy is a good school on a journey towards outstanding. We have an innovative curriculum and are currently supporting Nottingham Trent University and the EEF on a reading trial at KS2. Millfield is situated on the edge of the county, Braunstone Town, near Fosse Park and has excellent road links for commuting. We have an excellent track record of supporting teaching staff, including NQT’s and have a high focus on CPD. We link closely with the Teaching School and share our expertise with other schools across the Trust. We are a two-form entry school with an onsite nursery and extensive grounds. Children leave Millfield in line with National expectations and above National in all subjects except Reading.

One of our hard-working and dedicated members of staff is taking maternity leave for the academic year 2021 – 2022 and we are seeking an enthusiastic, reflective teacher to cover their class. We are now seeking a creative and passionate teacher for a KS2 class. We have a bespoke curriculum that has clear progression statements and endpoints for all subjects and year groups. This post is particularly suited to an NQT and we have a proven track record of supporting and developing NQT’s in their early careers. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver highly effective lessons linked to our curriculum map. Support would be provided by our highly effective subject leaders, class teachers and assistant heads alongside the Early Career Framework support provided by the trust and the teaching school.
We are looking for someone who will:
• Be a highly effective and reflctive teacher
• Have excellent communication skills
• Have an ability to liaise with staff, parents and children
• Have high expectations of themselves and the child.
• Share their passion for learning with staff, children and parents
• Work closely with teachers in KS2 and subject leaders
