We have an exciting opportunity for a Looked after Children (LAC) Coordinator to join our Student Support Services Team.
The role will be required to work across all sites, with a focus on being flexible to the needs of the students and their chosen location of study. You will be working alongside the wider Student Support Services teams to provide a student centric service to students. You will be responsible for coordinating the support to Looked after Children (LAC) and Care Leavers (CL) who attend CRC on a range of study programmes. With a focus of improving outcomes for this group of students, the ability to supervise, motivate and inspire young people who may have complex backgrounds and challenging lives is essential. You will regularly liaise with internal and external organisations including the Virtual School, reporting on the progress and outcomes of LAC and CL students promoting a team around the student approach. You will report to the Student Support and Safeguarding and will be supported to provide appropriate interventions to students ensuring that the college meets its statutory duty in relation to child protection and safeguarding.
The right candidate will have previous experience of working in a similar role in social work, youth and community work, advice and guidance or education. Experience of working with referral agencies is desirable. You will need to be an effective communicator to engage with a range of stakeholders and be able to able to prioritise your workload to respond to the most urgent tasks whilst maintaining a responsive service to students.
The successful candidate will be supported through access to supervision and be provided ongoing training and development to assist them in their role.
