Lead Practitioner – Teaching & Learning Science
Leadership Range 1- 7 (dependant on skills and experience)
Full-time – permanent
Commencing as soon as possible
We are looking to appoint a talented, outstanding teacher with the commitment and ambition to raise the quality of teaching and learning in science and across the college, taking us through the next phase in our development and beyond. The role will provide the opportunity to contribute to and enhance teaching expertise across Key Stages 3 and 4 at Ibstock and across LIFE Multi Academy Trust schools.
As lead practitioner you will play a leading and highly visible role in the improvement of teaching practice and ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning and achievement for all students. As a highly effective evidence informed and innovative teacher, you will skillfully support the faculty leader and colleagues in monitoring and evaluating standards and provision in science, including the development and implementation of curriculum design. As Lead Practitioner you will work closely with the Assistant Head responsible for Teaching and Learning, in supporting teachers across the college to continue to review and improve their practice to deliver the very best education for our students.
This role is a great career opportunity for an ambitious professional or aspiring senior leader who is passionate about science and looking to build on or extend their leadership profile, whilst keen to retain their focus and time in teaching and learning in the classroom.
The college has over 700 students on roll and is at the heart of the local community, serving families in Ibstock and the surrounding villages of North-West Leicestershire. Having joined LiFE Multi Academy Trust in July 2021 and having just welcomed our first year 10 cohort, this is an exciting time to be joining Ibstock Community College!
