Coleg Gwent are seeking to appoint a dynamic, forward thinking, inspiring Lead Practitioner & Lecturer of English to teach GCSE English Language and Essential Skills Communication to our learners.
We are looking for an excellent teacher who is passionate about their subject and can teach across the ability range. Someone who can show evidence of visible impact on learner outcomes in their current post and who will have the capacity to continue to raise attainment in a high performing department through motivating and inspiring learners.
It is imperative that you have the ability to support your team, share best practice, lead by example, and raise standards in teaching, learning and assessment at Newport Campus.
The ideal candidate will have outstanding subject knowledge, along with good communication skills. Good classroom management skills, motivation and commitment will be required to achieve ambitious targets and exceed expectations. You will be someone thoroughly committed to making a difference to learners’ lives.
It is desirable that you have to have working knowledge and delivered Essential Skills Qualification (ESQ) Communication up to level 2, but not essential as training and support will be provided to the successful candidate.
Candidates will hold a subject specific degree and have significant successful experience of delivering GCSE English Language with a record of accomplishment of excellent outcomes that are above national comparators.
