Bluecoat Wollaton invite applications for the post of Lead teacher of Maths from outstanding, enthusiastic, committed and successful teachers with a proven ability to teach inspirational lessons to our students.
As Lead Teacher, the successful candidate will be responsible for raising student attainment levels and supporting the Head of Maths in implementing a vision for the faculty’s future. We are seeking an individual who is able to demonstrate clear views on how to promote Mathematics across the academy and propose clear strategies as to how standards can be raised. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with staff teams are essential in order to provide the best opportunities for students.
Our Bluecoat Wollaton Maths professionals encourage students to use their problem solving skills such as logic and creativity facilitated by the latest technology in order to enhance and impact the learning experience. The Mathematics department are highly collaborative and continually seeking to develop professionally. They teach mixed attainment at KS3 and follow a mastery style scheme of work. At KS4 Maths use AQA for Higher Tier and are currently trialling OCR at Foundation level. At Bluecoat Wollaton we have time dedicated to professional development of staff for two hours each week on a Thursday afternoon. This allows the Maths team to work effectively together and make strong progress with their faculty priorities. This is an experienced and welcoming team and any new starter to the school will be well looked after.

Whilst employed to work predominantly at the Bluecoat Wollaton, there may be a requirement for the post holder to work across any of the sites that comprise Archway Learning Trust in accordance with the needs of the Trust.
Archway Learning Trust, previously Bluecoat Academies Trust was formed in April 2014 as a result of the very long and successful history of Bluecoat Academy. We recently welcomed three further secondary schools in Derby to the Trust and are excited to be opening Bluecoat Trent Academy, a secondary Free School in Nottingham in September 2021.
The Trust comprises of Bluecoat Aspley Academy, Bluecoat Sixth Form, Bluecoat Wollaton Academy, Bluecoat Beechdale Academy, Bluecoat Primary Academy, The Nottingham Emmanuel School and Sixth Form, The Long Eaton School, Lees Brook Community School, Merrill Academy and the Bluecoat SCITT Alliance (School Centred Initial Teacher Training).
The successful candidate will be committed to the students and academy life and will possess the ability to communicate effectively and be able to raise the standards of learning for all of the students that they are required to work with.
