About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learner Services Assistant who will predominantly work on our busy King’s Cross Centre reception area to provide a high quality and effective service for the general public, customers, visitors and students.
The role will report into the Head of Learner Services. You will be required to provide a full range of receptionist / associated administration support. You will need to have the ability to use your own initiative but also work as a team.
To be successful in this role you will ideally need to have relevant experience working in an administrative role within a further education setting.
The successful candidate will also have:
• Good written and oral communication skills
• A high proficiency in the standard Microsoft packages
• Excellent administrative skills including experience in the processing of letters, reports, spreadsheets and other documentation as required.
• Experience using relevant student databases/systems
You will have a keen eye for attention to detail and be confident and comfortable communicating with students of all ages, parents and external contacts.
You will have a passion for supporting our students to ensure that they have access to all the information that they need to be able to be successful on their programme.
You will have a strong level of IT skills and will have the ability to work well under pressure and to set deadlines, both individually using your own initiative but also as a team player.
You will maintain student databases to ensure that absence notifications are entered and that student personal records are up to date.
You will be able to cover Reception duties occasionally out of normal office hours to accommodate Open Evening’s and other college events which may require this.
