We are seeking to appoint a full time, highly motivated, suitably qualified and experienced person to become a Learning Advisor. The postholder will also act as the Local Authority Early Years Additional Learning Needs Lead Officer (Early Years ALNLO) within the Education & Youth Portfolio.
The main purpose of this post is to implement the authority’s statutory duties with regard to Additional Learning Needs & Education Tribunal (Wales) Act 2018, Additional Learning Needs Code for Wales (Draft) and other associated statutory regulations.
The post holder will provide strategic direction and have responsibility for coordinating the local authority’s functions under the Additional Learning Needs & Education Tribunal (Wales) Act 2018.
The postholder will have an active role in raising awareness of the new Additional Learning Needs (ALN) system, promoting early identification and prevention and be a source of expertise on matters related to ALN.
The post involves close partnership working with a range of multi-agency stakeholders, families, schools and pre-school settings.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate significant experience of supporting children with additional learning needs in the Early Years.
