Pivot Academy is expanding, join us!
At Pivot we believe children deserve better. In our Academies we teach and support children and young people from Key Stages 1 – 5 who have been excluded from school, for whom mainstream education is simply not working, or those with an EHCP who require a specialist placement. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some of the most complex and challenging children, many of whom come to us with some really traumatic backgrounds. We are doing great things – but we have so much more to do.
Even before the pandemic the demand for good quality provision far exceeded supply. The past year has widened the gap even more – and we are stepping up to the challenge.
Pivot Academy at Salus House will open in September 2021, providing additional high-quality capacity for children and young people with complex SEMH and other learning needs. For our new provision, we are seeking enthusiastic and resilient Learning and Behaviour Mentors who have experience of working with young people with complex needs.
Here at Pivot we recognise each of our learners are unique with different experiences and offer a pathway to reflect their individual needs and support success. We have high aspirations for all our learners, and our offer gives them the opportunity to experience and understand the world around them, enables them to achieve to their full potential and equips them with the tools they need to play a successful role in the world beyond school and into adulthood.
As a Learning and Behaviour Mentor, you would be expected to co-ordinate and address the barriers to learning for either an individual pupil or a targeted group of pupils in order to enable them to achieve their full potential. Through innovative, creative and professional practice, you will be able to engage our young people and inspire them to learn new skills and develop their self-esteem. Although this area of education is challenging we can offer the right candidate a rewarding, supportive and fun working environment. No two days are the same, the pace is very quick and you are encouraged to trial new approaches.
Working at Pivot will give you a real chance to change our student’s lives and we truly believe you will find working here a rewarding experience. These roles will provide a great opportunity for those seeking to begin their career within education.
