Cabot Primary School is an ambitious, high achieving school in the heart of a thriving, vibrant and diverse community in St Pauls, Bristol.
We were judged Good at our recent Ofsted inspection in November 2018. The report noted many strengths including,
- “…pupils enjoy coming to school and appreciate the help and support they receive.”
- “The school’s curriculum is rich in experiences which motivate pupils to concentrate well and support them to build their knowledge effectively.”
- “ Teachers encourage pupils to play their part and develop the attributes they need to make a valuable contribution to society.”
Please visit the Ofsted website to see our current and previous reports.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Learning Mentor, 37 hours per week term time only, who will continue to support all our children, including the most vulnerable, to have positive attitudes and behaviours for learning.
Our Learning Mentor will be instrumental in ensuring the wellbeing and mental health of our amazing pupils. They will plan, implement and support focussed and responsive interventions to children who may have challenges in regulating their emotions and behaviour. The successful candidate will also be a vital link with our families: they will work closely on attendance and provide best bespoke support. They will be able to signpost families to relevant organisations and assist them in getting the help the need from a range of outside agencies. As Learning Mentor, they will be responsible for the day to day management and professional development of our SMSAs. They will work closely with the Senior Leadership team to monitor behaviour.
We actively seek to provide opportunities to celebrate diversity and challenge stereotypes. Our dedicated team of staff and governors, and friendly and enthusiastic pupils are committed to working together to achieve their very best.
You will need to be creative, have a good knowledge of how children learn and be able to form excellent relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues. You will need a good understanding of the needs of pupils from a variety of different cultures, including those for whom English is an additional language.
Please contact the school if you would like to come and visit, or for any further information and we would welcome the opportunity to show you around our happy school and meet some of our staff and children.
Applications close: Thursday 5th December(Midday)
Interviews: Monday 16th December
