We are looking for a committed, flexible, reflective Learning Mentor to join our strong SEND and SEMH team. The role will include: working with individual children, running intervention groups, working within a class, teaching emotional literacy, maintaining relationships with families, advising teachers and support staff… across school.
At Greenhill, we teach children, not robots!
We know that one size does not fit all; we know that children come to school from a whole range of environments; we know that adults (parents, carers, staff) come to school with different experiences; we know that there isn’t one way to be, one way to learn, one way to teach; and we know that working at our school can be rewarding, tough, fun and challenging.
We value relationships, support and continuously trying to be a little better every day.
We can’t offer you an easy ride in comfort where every day is a good day, but we can offer you a thriving, supportive school where every day is full of human beings and dogs with all their amazing personalities!
Usual hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am until 3.30pm, 30 minute lunch break plus 5 training days.
You can contact our friendly office staff to arrange a visit, when one of our senior leaders will have time to show you round our school and answer any questions.
Closing date: Thursday 29th June at 12.30pm
Interviews: Monday 5th July
If you decide to apply, please complete the application form in full – we are not allowed to accept CVs. We would also like a covering letter, of no more than 2 sides of A4, telling us about yourself and why you would be the best person for this role at Greenhill!
References – please note we will take up your references if you are shortlisted. Please make sure that one referee is the head teacher from your current or most recent school, and that the second referee is not based in the same school.
Thank you – we look forward to meeting you soon!
Greenhill Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
We particularly welcome applications from under represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
