Become a Weston College Learning Mentor based within our LibraryPlus team and play a key role in supporting our learners to progress. You will be part of a cross-college team who will design, plan and deliver a timetabled programme for groups of learners to develop academic, employability and digital skills. With a timetable of sessions, you will be responsible for lesson planning, monitoring attendance, encouraging the use of library resources and communicating with course tutors.
Weston College has a LibraryPlus centre at each campus, offering learners a range of academic support, resources, technology and wider skills development. As a Learning Mentor you will also work with learners on a one-to-one basis to help individuals progress on their journey to higher levels of study or into employment.
The successful candidate will thrive within a busy and vibrant learning environment, working proactively to develop positive relationships with a range of curriculum areas. Finding approaches to develop the wider skills of learners whilst ensuring there is cohesion with curriculum delivery and other support areas will require creativity and excellent interpersonal skills.
