We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and values driven Learning Support Assistant in our Phase 1 campus on Baytree Road to work with children from Key Stage 1 to Year 7.
Based in Weston-super-Mare, the Voyage Learning Campus is a pupil referral unit making a real difference to the lives of young people in North Somerset. We are a ‘Thrive’ provision and work to build trusting relationships with children and families to support them to make the transition back into mainstream school, or specialist provision if appropriate. We collaborate with our mainstream partners across North Somerset and are developing an exciting outreach programme, which has been positively welcomed by the schools with whom we have worked. This involves supporting students who are still attending their mainstream setting on a 1:1 or small group basis for intervention sessions at the VLC.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone thinking about, or just starting a career, working with children and young people. It is important that the successful candidate has good interpersonal skills and is able to communicate appropriately with students, parents and carers with a variety of backgrounds, needs and abilities. You will be joining an experienced, highly skilled and collaborative team of staff, with a supportive Senior Leadership Team and Management Committee. There are a range of opportunities for professional development, including work with colleagues in our secondary PRU and medical tuition.
The Voyage Learning Campus is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and all appointments are subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks and satisfactory references and checks that meet Safer Recruitment requirements.
