The staff, children and governors of Clandon School are seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our team for five mornings each week.
(Monday 8.30-12.30 Tuesday - Friday 8.30 -12.00).
We are looking for an outstanding SEND Learning Assistant to provide 1:1 and small group support
to aid a child with an EHCP to learn playfully and effectively both inside and outside the classroom.
The child will be joining year 3 in September.
The child is delightful but needs support and motivation to access learning. They struggle specifically
with memory and processing language, so will need pre-teaching of vocabulary, precision teaching
and consolidation work. They work best when they are relaxed so playful game-based learning will
Ideally, you will have experience of special educational needs and understand how to support
children with language and processing issues, specifically children who struggle to attend to and
process spoken language. You will help to motivate and support children to achieve their potential.
You will have experience of using a variety of strategies suitable for a range of special educational
needs and be passionate about making a difference to children’s lives.
The successful candidate will work alongside and support the class teacher to ensure that the child
you are supporting is accessing the curriculum and making positive progress in all aspects of their
