Learning Support Assistant - Animal
Management & Science
(Full Time, Term Time - Fixed Term until June 2021)
We are seeking to appoint two highly motivated, energetic and dedicated individuals to join the Animal Management & Science Faculty at BCA to work alongside specialist tutors and vocational lecturing staff to provide an outstanding learning experience for our mainstream students. This is an exciting opportunity to offer in-class and, in some instances, out of class support to learners with a range of learning difficulties, disabilities and differences within the Department.
You will need knowledge and awareness of a variety of approaches to supporting learners inclusive of those that may have emotional/behavioural challenges. You must be a confident communicator, able to work on your own initiative as well as within the team to find the best ways to support our students to an excellent standard. Experience of similar work with post-16 learners would be useful.
Knowledge of animals and science would be desirable but is not essential. However, you will need to be prepared to work alongside a range of domesticated and exotic species supporting students in both theory and practical lessons many of which will take place outdoors. You will also be required to support students with practical laboratory work.
To apply for this exciting role, please read the attached job description and complete the application form which can be downloaded from FE jobs or found under ‘How to Apply’ on the ‘Work for Us’ page of our website. Completed applications forms can be uploaded directly by selecting ‘Apply Now’ or emailed to the HR Department. For any queries, please contact the HR team who will be happy to help you.
