Maplewell Hall School are looking to add to the expanding team of enthusiastic and devoted support staff that we have at our friendly, successful and oversubscribed school.
Due to expansion in the Autumn Term at both our main school and Post 16 locations, we are currently seeking additional Learning Assistants, to join and contribute to our extremely dedicated support team and be part of a highly successful oversubscribed school which has high aspirations for all students with SEN and Autism.
Start date: Friday 20th August 2021
1 year fixed term in the first instance with a review to being permanent
Contract: 32 hours per week, 39 weeks (term time plus 5 teacher training days)
Closing date: 9am Friday 25th June 2021
The successful applicants will need to be confident, well organised and self-motivated, along with being flexible to meet the needs of the school. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
• A commitment to raising levels of student achievement
• High standards of Literacy and Maths
• Ability to work as a part of a team
• A passion to work with children with moderate learning needs including Autism
Maplewell Hall is a highly popular expanding special school for students with moderate learning difficulties and Autism aged 11 – 19 years. At present there are 260 students on roll across the whole school, increasing to approx. 285 students across both the Main School (including Maplewell Autism Provision (MAP) and our Post 16 Site, based in Loughborough, from Autumn 21.
MAP supports and provides learning for students with high functioning Autism and is designed for students to reach and achieve their full potential. Our Post 16 Site aims to provide all our students with a pathway to employability.
This is a fantastic opportunity for proactive individuals who have the ability to apply support strategies where barriers to learning present themselves. You will be able to communicate effectively and have an understanding of the support needs of students within education and the challenges for students making the transition between settings.
