Learning Support Assistant
Start Date: As soon as possible.
Fixed-term contract: initially until End August 2022 (reviewed annually)
Hours: 5 days a week 30-32.5 hours per week, term time only

Salary: BG6 to BG7 dependent on experience £19,696 - £21,748 pro-rata (£13,598 - £16,266 actual)

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT with experience of working as a classroom learning assistant and/ or working with small groups or one-to-one support.
The role requires the candidate to have the following:
- Ability to effectively support children with differing needs in the classroom to facilitate learning.
- Experience in working with pupils who have Special Educational Needs.
- Experience of working in EYFS and/or KS1
- Care, adaptability, foresight, and initiative.
- Have humour and resilience.
- Good interpersonal skills to communicate with Class Teachers, LSAs, SENCo, and Parents.
- To be familiar with strategies to support vulnerable groups of pupils.
- To provide a positive and encouraging learning environment.
- To be able to refocus children back toward learning through positive behaviour strategies.
- The ability to lead high-quality interventions to support needs.

We are looking for an excellent and highly motivated LSA to work in EYFS and KS1. Whilst your ongoing deployment will be on a need basis across the school. The person appointed must be able to develop good relationships with pupils and parents, have high expectations, be assertive, and have a sense of humour. Previous experience working in a school environment is essential and any experience of children with SEND pupils is preferable.
We need a person who is adaptable, who can work on their own initiative, and who is caring, patient, and able to work collaboratively with a very supportive team. Most support will be within the classroom but you will also lead 1:1 or small group interventions.
