As a specialist care provider in autism, at our adult day centre we work 1:1 with our learners using individualized and tailored approaches and programs to develop independence and enable fulfilling lives.
What’s a typical day?
No two days at JigsawPlus are ever the same, but as a Learning Support Worker you can expect to be involved in…
Life Skills – Supporting learners to excel through adulthood, maximising independence by developing daily life skills such as money management and meal preparation
Academic Development - Encouraging learners to develop educationally by building numeracy and literacy skills
Community Access – All learners access the local community, putting into practice the skills developed at JigsawPlus. We also encourage learners to participate in activities and hobbies specific to their own interests. You can join in with a range of activities such as, horse-riding and cycling or supporting learners with work experience opportunities
Progress Monitoring – Ensuring all learners make progress that enables a fulfilling life, monitoring and recording learner’s achievement and adapting support and individualised learning plans to maximise progress
Personal Care – Supporting with self-help skills such as toileting, feeding or other intimate tasks
Behaviour Management – Supporting learners to manage their behaviour and teaching methods to reduce behaviours that challenge
