About the Role:
City of Bristol College is seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and proactive Lecturer to work within the Catering and Hospitality area. Teaching Classroom theory and food and service operations in our restaurants. This provides our students with a realistic working environment. This position is part time fixed term for 1 year and will be based at the College Green Centre in the City, with some classes timetabled at South Bristol Skills Academy.
What you’ll be responsible for/what we are looking for:
• Mix of practical and classroom-based learning
• Must have experience of managing a restaurant or food service operation
• Flexibility to support catering for internal/external events outside of usual working hours
• Links with industry/employers to support with visits, speakers, Work experience etc
• Planning, delivery and assessment of L1-L3 practical and theoretical with a range of awarding bodies (C&G/BTEC)
• must have experience and full knowledge of BTEC programmes e.g. systems and regulations
• Knowledge of new technical qualifications would be an advantage but not essential
We are looking for someone with experience of teaching and learning in Catering and Hospitality and who is confident in working in a fast paced environment, with changing priorities.
You will also need to be able to build and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders, at all levels, internally and externally, as well as other members of College staff and students.
