Cambridge Regional College are currently looking for a dynamic teacher to join our Uniformed Services/ Science teams in based in Cambridge. The role will initially be for 5 hours per week but will likely increase in subsequent years.

About the role:
You will be responsible for the delivery of the mandatory Psychology / Forensic & Criminology Investigation units as part of Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Forensic and Criminal Investigation. These are Applications of Criminology, Criminal Investigation Procedures in Practice and Applications of Criminal and Forensic Psychology. You will also be required to act as tutor for the BTEC groups in this area.
In addition, there may be the opportunity to also teach on the Access to Criminal Justice and Policing with units including Human Rights, Criminal Justice System and The Power of the Police / Public Order Offences.
You will need to prepare all lessons and keep the college’s Moodle pages up to date to support learning. As part of the role, you will also be required to assess and internally moderate students’ work and participate in External verifier meetings. You will need to follow quality assurance processes both within the college and as part of the awarding body’s requirements.

Educated to degree level in a relevant subject, i.e. Psychology / Criminology / Policing, you are an inspirational teacher who makes full use of active learning strategies. You have the ability to support the development of transferable study skills in preparation for either HE or employment. You will need to discuss student issues with other team members and work collaboratively to ensure excellent retention and success. You will have a willingness to share good practice and collaborate with Science and Uniformed Services teams. To ensure excellent recruitment onto the pathways, you will be participate in relevant Interview (Welcome) events and taster days with other team members.
