The faculty of Creative Industries, Hair and Beauty, Sport and Public Services is a dynamic, wide ranging area of Coleg Sir Gar. Based mostly at the Graig Campus, the curriculum area offers a diverse range of courses from Level 1 through to Level 6. It is also responsible for running the highly acclaimed Sports Academy, Duke of Edinburgh Awards and the 5 x 30 programmes.
As part of The Creative Industries department, Creative Media Production run vibrant programmes for their learners, providing them with a clear understanding of the sector, enabling them to progress into employment and/or higher education. They offer courses at Level 1 through to Level 3 and have strong links with industry specialists, who visit as guest speakers and run workshop sessions. The department emphasises the development of creative skills as an integral element of provision, and offers Skills Academy sessions to all learners in the area. Learners in the area are also expected to engage with our college Film Club.
This post will also work closely with the Music Technology and Performing Arts Departments. The aim is to promote creative collaborations to enhance learner’s experiences, and develop a regional reputation for excellence in the delivery of creative industries.
The Welsh Baccalaureate and/or Essential Skills are also offered along-side BTEC courses together with a strong pastoral programme.
