Part Time 0.8FTE (29.6 hours p/week), £24,171 to £33,630 pro rata,
The College are currently seeking a Lecturer in Horticulture to join our Landbased department on a part time basis contract. We are looking for an individual who has a commitment to achieving excellence. You will have access to a wide range of relevant equipment and resources, including glasshouses, landscaped grounds, a zoological garden and an extensive historic walled garden. Within this role you will be responsible for delivering outstanding teaching and assessment; ensuring students reach their maximum potential. You will prepare schemes of work, lesson and assessment plans, contribute to the wide enrichment of students including supporting pastoral needs and you will ensure resource material and teaching reflect best practice contributing to the quality of provision as measured by retention, attendance, success rates, grades and value added.
You will also be expected to motivate learners to produce evidence required and achieve qualifications in a timely fashion by the agreed end date, ensure that learning environments are safe and that learner start, review and completion paperwork is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant qualification and / or have substantial experience in the industry. You will also hold a teacher or be willing to work towards this (within 6 months of appointment). With an engaging approach you will have the ability to motivate students and support them to achieve their potential and you should have experience of motivating and supporting young people aged 16-25.
