The Federated Governing Body of Cwmfelinfach and Ynysddu Primary Schools is looking to employ an enthusiastic and hard-working Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work in their Foundation Phase, Nurture Class (SRB) - This class serves children from across the Caerphilly Borough on a three-term intervention. Pupils access the provision on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; returning to their ‘home’ schools each Wednesday.
They are seeking to appoint a dynamic Level 2 teaching assistant to support learning in the school. Candidates will be required to have NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and Education, or equivalent, to support learning in the school.
The Teaching Assistant will be required to work under the guidance of, and with the Teaching and Senior Staff to implement agreed programmes of work. The postholder will be expected to support class teachers with assessment procedures and to carry out their own assessments as part of intervention processes. There will be a focus on working as a member of our strong school team, encouraging positive behaviour in our children and assisting them in achieving high standards.
There will be a requirement to understand and have prior experience of children in Foundation Phase. The successful candidate will be required to visit pupils in their ‘home’ settings on Wednesdays on a timetabled rota. The successful candidate will have competent IT skills and will be well-organised and self-motivating.
