The Governing Body are looking to appoint a passionate and forward thinking TA to be part of a brand new special school that opened in Blackpool on 1 September 2020. This is a unique opportunity to develop a successful school from its infancy. Lotus School caters for up to 48 pupils ranging from Year 6 to Year 11 who have an EHCplan with a primary need of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). In our first year we have admitted up to 22 pupils from Year 6 to Year 8.
At Lotus we understand that for some children, their journey so far has been difficult, but this can change, and with patience and the right support, every pupil can thrive and learn. The pupils are at the centre of all decisions regarding the school, and both the building and the curriculum offer have been carefully designed to take into account the specific needs of these vulnerable learners.
This will be an important role within school and will support the Headteacher in driving forward the vision and ethos of the school.
Lotus school is part of the Champion Education Trust, which currently has two secondary schools located in Blackburn. Both schools have been graded 'Good' in their latest OFSTED inspections and both are oversubscribed. The Champion Education Trust are passionate about all pupils achieving highly and going beyond what others thought possible, regardless of background, need or prior attainment, in a culture of high expectations and support.
