Working hours: 32.5 hours a week, Monday – Friday, Term Time Only
Pay Scale: Grade 5, £23,080 - £25,991 per annum
Ystruth Primary School is seeking to appoint two Level 3 Teaching Assistants to support learning in their school. Ystruth Primary is a warm, friendly school where the teaching assistants work extremely hard as highly valued members of a strong school team. The successful candidates will show a commitment to helping every child become the best that they can be. The successful candidates will ideally have knowledge of how to support pupils with Additional Learning Needs, combined with an understanding and prior experience of the Foundation Phase curriculum and practice. We are an Autism Friendly school so candidates must be willing to work in our ASD Resource Base if required. Experience and knowledge of pupils with ASD would be an advantage for these posts.
One position is temporary (maternity cover), estimated to be until 31st August 2022 or the return of the substantive post holder, whichever is earlier. One position is fixed-term until 31st August 2022. Please specify whether you are applying for one or both contract types in your application form.
Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014 all Learning Support staff in schools, (which includes the post referred to herein), must be registered with the Education Workforce Council for Wales (EWC) from 1 April 2016.
Your employment will be subject to satisfactory documentary evidence of registration, and continuing registration, as a Learning Support Assistant with the EWC. Information on how to register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) can be found on the EWC website or by telephoning, 02 92 0 46 00 99. It is your responsibility to ensure you register and continue to register as part of your terms and conditions of employment.
