Do you want a job that is fulfilling? Do you love and value supporting young people? Do you believe in the opportunity for every child to have space to imagine? Do you love to lose yourself in a good book? Are you patient, tenacious, creative, optimistic and a great communicator? Then Ashby School could be the place for you!
A unique opportunity has arisen to be our new Librarian and Resource Manager. Our library sits at the literal and metaphorical heart of our school, and we are looking for someone to embrace the opportunity to build on this amazing resource. We want to appoint an individual who is able to grow students love of reading, who knows teenage fiction and the power it brings, who understands how to communicate with young people and who loves being a learner. We also seek to appoint someone who works well as part of a team, who is able to line-manage others and support complimentary roles within our school. This role is endless in its opportunities and we are looking for a librarian who is willing to work with students to support learning in its broadest sense through and beyond books.
We believe that Ashby School is a great place for students to take their next educational steps, be it as they join our Year 10 or as a Year 7, who we welcomed for the first time this academic year. We also believe it is an equally great place to start or take your next steps in employment. As such, this role is offered in conjunction with a full suite of professional development to allow it to be the first step into an education journey.
Hours of work are 8.00am – 4:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am – 3.30pm Friday with a 30- minute unpaid lunch. This would be for 38 weeks term time plus two extra days (15 hours) to attend teacher training days. This is a permanent contract.
If you think this could be just what you have been looking for, we look forward to welcoming your application.
