We are recruiting for a nursery manager to run The Court House Day Nursery in Knowle. This is a full-time role – 40 hours per week, year-round. The nursery is open from 7.30am until 6pm and candidates must be available to work during those times.
This is a fantastic opportunity to run a busy, thriving nursery. The position is becoming available due to retirement. This is a chance to lead a committed, supportive team in a popular nursery with a long waiting list, supported by family-run senior management.
We are looking for an experienced Early Years Manager. You will need to be organised, hardworking, efficient, confident with using technology and able to multi-task in a busy environment. You will also have the ethos of putting care first – care of the children and families, but also care of the staff. Our ethos is child-led and family orientated and our values are embedded across our company.
The successful candidate will need to be able to liaise effectively with a growing staff team, parents, outside agencies and senior management. We are also looking for an up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding; an understanding of the importance of following company policies; a sense of curiosity to always want to learn and improve; a desire to care and support others and proven leadership skills will be an advantage. In-depth knowledge of Ofsted requirements and the care and educational needs of under 5s is required. An understanding of the principles of In the Moment Planning would be an advantage.
The manager is responsible for all aspects of day to day care and running of the nursery and reports to the Managing Director and Finance Manager. We are a family-run business with three nurseries across Bristol; the nurseries are supported by a Head Office team.

An embedded understanding of the EYFS and Development Matters.
A sense of fun, a love of working with children and a desire to help staff learn, develop and fulfil their potential.
The successful applicant will also actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring nursery policies and procedures are observed at all times.
