We are looking to appoint a Nurture Teacher at Epsom Downs Primary School and Children’s Centre. This is a 0.5 FTE role across 5 days per week, mornings only. The role is initially a one year fixed term contract as is dependent upon external funding. Four mornings will be worked in our dedicated unit ‘The Nest’ (Nurturing Emotional Security Together) and one morning a week of outreach work.
We aim to provide a small-scale setting in which children can experience nurturing care from two caring adults, who actively work towards enabling their successful reintegration to class. You should be an experienced and creative nurture teacher with high expectations and a commitment to inclusion and achievement for all children. An understanding of Nurture Group principles is essential.
Our new Headteacher is looking for a teacher to support children with barriers to learning in the classroom including special educational/behavioural needs or emotional wellbeing factors. The successful candidate will work alongside teachers and TAs encouraging best practice and understanding of children’s emotional needs.
This post is a temporary contract. Schools are allocated specific funding to support Nurture Groups for children with identified needs and this post is directly linked to that funding.
