An opportunity has arisen at William Hulme’s Grammar School (WHGS) to appoint a Primary Phase Office Manager, capable of leading a busy Primary Phase office. WHGS is a 3-18 Academy with a long and distinguished history. It is a multi-cultural community that welcomes children from all backgrounds and beliefs and is one of the most over-subscribed schools in Greater Manchester. The Primary Phase serves 480 pupils from the local community in a modern two-form entry building.
Reporting to the Primary Phase Headteacher, the Office Manager will have responsibility for ensuring the effective and smooth running of the Primary Phase Office, including direct line management of several office staff responsible for Reception, Office Administration, Attendance and Mentoring. Approachable, level-headed and highly organised, the Office Manager will be a key public face of the phase, developing and fostering effective relationships with all stakeholders. The successful applicant will be able to work under pressure and will possess strong IT, data management, planning and administrative skills, as well as an ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, both internally and externally and across the whole school. The Office Manager will also act as PA to the Primary Phase Headteacher and will have the ability to prioritise their own work whilst overseeing that of others.

The working hours are 37.5 per week, 8.30-4.30, Monday to Friday, term time only plus two weeks (including Inset Days). It is to be expected that some evening work may be required as an integral part of the role, eg parents’ evening.
