The Mead Educational Trust (TMET) is a thriving family of schools based in Leicester and Leicestershire with income approaching £50 million. We now include 13 primary and secondary schools, plus the Leicester and Leicestershire Teaching School Hub and Leicestershire Secondary SCITT with further growth likely in the future.
Due to the growth of the Trust and the planned reduction in working hours of the current post holder, we are looking for an experienced finance leader to join our team.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Operational Finance Manager is responsible for the successful financial operations of the Trust. Ensuring that we work at all times to adhere to TMET financial handbook, DfE MAT handbook guidelines, Charity Commission guidance and good accounting practice.
This includes responsibility for the central finance operation (currently 8 staff) and indirectly, the school-based finance teams.
We are looking for some who can:
- Be the guardian of sound financial processes. Including working with internal audit to identify weaknesses and opportunities for improvement. Ensure that staff are trained in key processes.
- Ensure excellent quality of transactional finance data to support good decision making within TMET.
- To develop strong processes which enable implementation of best value projects and control of major contract costs.
- Develop the Trust’s finance systems and processes to be fit for growth
