Do you have experience of working with young people who have EHCP's? Are you dynamic and resilient and have experience of working with students with have complex learning differences and/or social, emotional and mental health difficulties? If so we would like to hear from you.
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Evolve Team as an Outreach worker where you will be working with young people aged 16-25 years of age who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP). In this role you will be required to provide 1:1 support to a caseload of students with complex learning differences and/or disabilities, including social, emotional and mental health difficulties, on and off-site.
1. To provide direct 1:1 support to a caseload of students working towards literacy, numeracy and a vocational qualification.
2. Provide transport to the young people that are not able to travel independently to either the college campus or other external venue.
3. To provide travel training to the young people in your caseload when appropriate and under direction from the Evolve Programme Leader.
4. To work closely with other colleagues sharing information.
5. Maintain and ensure safe working practices.
6. Other duties commensurate with the role.
It is essential that you hold a recognised youth, community, mentoring or guidance qualification at Level 2 or higher or a proven track record in this type of work. English, Maths and ICT at Level 2 or higher
You should be able to evidence relevant experience, working knowledge and understanding of an FE or 6th Form environment, working with a range of complex co-occurring LDD including challenging behaviour, mental ill health, ASC or Pervasive Development Disorders & SpLD.
You should hold a full driving licence, preferably clean.
The working hours for this role are:
Monday - 4 hours (exact working hours to be confirmed)
Wednesday - 9am to1pm
Thursday - 10:30am to 5pm
Friday - 9am to 4:30pm.
