MidKent College is at the heart of the education sector in South East England, and a College which Ofsted recognised as Good for overall effectiveness, in a November 2018 inspection.
We are currently centralising the procurement function at the College and are now looking for a Part Time Central Purchasing Administrator to assist in this new role. This role is for 12 hours per week (ideally split across 2 consecutive days).
The successful candidate will provide a professional and efficient service for staff in operating the centralised purchasing system. You will act as a point of contact for budget holders with regard to all purchasing requirements, placing College orders for goods and services, whilst ensuring value for money.
The successful candidate will obtain best prices for goods and services in the College, ensuring full compliance with financial procedures at all times. They will ensure that orders are placed accurately and in a timely manner and provide support to budget holders and College staff.
You will assist in the management of budget spend in departments, reconcile purchasing supplier accounts and assist in the preparation of monthly value for money reports, the maintenance of the asset register, depreciation calculations and the calculation of interdepartmental cost transfers.
You will be educated to Level 2 or equivalent and have previous experience and knowledge working in finance or purchasing. You will have demonstrable experience of working in a team in a busy environment, be an excellent communicator and excel in customer service.
