Part Time Lecturers. Skills for Life. English and Maths. Casual (Sessional hours).
This is an exciting opportunity to join our pool of part time maths and English lecturers. We are looking for people able to teach Functional Skills and/or GCSE. We work in a variety of situations including the main campuses and outreach locations, with students who are aged 19+. We have classes across the week and are particularly looking for teachers for evenings and Saturday mornings. If you are unable to do these times but are still interested, please do apply.
You will have experience of teaching functional skills from entry to level 2 and/or GCSE maths or English with a range of learners. Ideally you will have worked with adults on roll on roll off part-time programmes, on college premises and in community settings. You will feel confident to cover classes, sometimes at short notice.
You will be enthusiastic about delivering programmes in a range of settings and using a variety of delivery methods. The following skills are essential: the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently and to manage own administrative work effectively. You will demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively.
You will have a level 2 qualification in maths and English. You will preferably hold a relevant teaching qualification and have or be willing to work towards a Level 4/5 Additional Diploma in either English or Maths. If the successful applicant does not hold a suitable teaching qualification, the College will support you to obtain this as part of our investment in your professional development.
