An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cardiff West Community High School.
We are seeking to appoint a permanent Pastoral Support Officer to work within our committed and skilled Pastoral Team.
This is a new key new role supporting student development and progress. You will work closely with the Progress Leader for your year group and the Welfare Manager to monitor and support all aspects of students’ wellbeing and attendance.
You should be able to demonstrate excellent skills when working with individual children; you will play a key role in meeting their pastoral needs and will need to be able to develop relationships easily with children of all backgrounds and experiences. The successful candidate will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, be confident and innovative, reliable, and flexible.
You should have an excellent knowledge of the Welsh Government 5 Step approach to monitoring attendance. You should be confident liaising with teachers, parents and Local Authority Education Welfare Officers to ensure that improvements in attendance are made and maintained.
Cardiff West Community High School is a vibrant, diverse and inclusive community school in the West of Cardiff. The school opened in September 2017 and we moved into an all-purpose new school site in April 2019.
