We have a vacancy for a PRE-PRIMARY TEACHER in our English Speaking Playschool. We are a bilingual daycare and preschool in Northern Finland. We work with children between the ages of 3 and 7 and the majority of our children go on to study at the local international school where they receive their instruction in English. We follow the guidance of the Finnish National Curriculum as well as our own individual curriculum which is focused on the inclusion of English throughout our teaching.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and resourceful teacher to join our lovely team. This is a full time position (38hr 50min per week) and will start with a one year contract which can be reviewed and extended. The salary for this position would be starting from approx. €2,300 per month depending on experience.
The ideal, native English speaking applicant should have experience of teaching English as a foreign language and MUST have a University level, Early Years qualification as a classroom teacher (BEd, BA or PGCE all with QTS) and have knowledge of the foundation stage curriculum. NQTs are more than welcome to apply.
We do understand there is a wariness for UK nationals to be seeking work within the EU thanks to the unresolved Brexit situation however, we can guarantee that during your time with us fully furnished and partly subsidised accommodation in the city centre will be organised, you will also receive a hot meal daily at work and you will be entitled to all of the benefits of the Finnish system (healthcare, tax, pension etc.) Your flight to Finland would also be paid for as a return ticket.
Interviews will take place via Skype and ideally the applicant would be ready to start work in August 2019 although there is a degree of flexibility with this.
We need to fill this unexpected vacancy as quickly as possible and ideally would aim to hold interviews by the end of June.
