We have an exciting opportunity for a practical and proactive individual to join our talented Premises team at John Cabot Academy. We are a diverse multi-academy trust, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning seeking to make an active contribution to the further development of Cabot Learning Federation and the Academy. This role is 25 hours per week, all year round. To be successful in the post, we are looking for a Premises Assistant to undertake a range of duties with regard to the operation and maintenance of our buildings ensuring a safe and secure environment is provided for all users. You will take instruction from the Building Services Manager, have a flexible approach to working and ideally, have experience of working in a similar type role.
What we are looking for:
This role is based at John Cabot Academy, reporting to the Building Services Manager, and sits within the wider CLF estates team. You will undertake a range of duties which will include:
- planned preventative maintenance and compliance testing
- undertaking repairs and maintenance to the premises and grounds
- ensuring site safety and security
- inducting all contractors who come to site
- supporting a strong Health & Safety culture
The successful candidate will be suitably qualified or able to demonstrate that they have the required experience and skill set to undertake this role. You must be able to prioritise and manage work flow whilst maintaining a flexible approach to respond to urgent requests. Excellent communications skill are essential along with a sound knowledge of Health & Safety.

About the Academy & Cabot Learning Federation
The Cabot Learning Federation is the largest non-diocesan academy group in the South West. We currently are sponsoring academies in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Weston-Super-Mare; six secondary, eight primary, one all-through academy and a Studio School. The Federation also has an overarching CLF Post 16 and specialist inclusion centres. Together we educate over 9000 children between the ages of 3 and 19 and the Federation is a major Teaching School in the South West.
