We are seeking an exceptional and inspirational teacher for the Preparatory (Primary) School. The post is likely to be based in the Junior Department in the first instance, but the ability to teach Infant and Junior years is essential.
Rougemont School; About Us
Our aim at Rougemont is to make sure that all students get the most they can from their education, enjoy their time with us and achieve their highest potential – we call this being Rougemont Ready. Rougemont really is a ‘School for Life’ and for the 21st Century.
Rougemont Nursery, the Preparatory School and the Senior School each have unique qualities, but all share the common purpose of providing students with a first class education and the opportunity to work towards higher education and a successful career.
There are strong academic standards across the School and students are encouraged to have high expectations. The most recent ESTYN report praised the School’s particularly strong GCSE and A Level results, which are well above the national average – placing us “amongst the highest performing Schools in Wales.”
The Preparatory School enjoys excellent facilities, with an Infant building, Junior building and Stable Block – home to our Year 3s. Additionally, children share the Refectory, Auditorium, Sport and Senior facilities, ensuring that all our children have a wonderful learning environment.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, inspirational class teacher, who will develop excellent relationships within our forward-thinking team. The person appointed will be required to work closely with other colleagues in the planning and delivery of the curriculum and to make a significant contribution to the co-curricular programme and the wider life of the School. The role is full time and is a maternity cover post to run from 1 September 2021 until the end of the Spring term 2022, Friday 8 April 2022.
Classes are small in number, with mixed ability within each. We broadly follow the Foundation Phase, with a key emphasis on core skills and an individualised curriculum, tailored to the needs of our children. Teaching Assistants support the provision and subject specialists deliver Sport, Music and Art to the end of Year 4, with additional Senior subject specialists introduced at Year 5.
Closing date and Interview Day
The closing date for application is Tuesday 27 April. Interviews will take place via Zoom on Wednesday 5 May 2021, with a possible second interview date of Friday 7 May 2021.
