We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, values driven and committed primary teacher to work with children who have been, or at risk of being, permanently excluded from their mainstream school. In addition, a number of our students have EHCPs and benefit from the tailored support that our school can provide. The Voyage Learning Campus is an all through Pupil Referral Unit, and the successful applicant will be based within our Phase One team, working with children from primary age through to Year 7.
We are a ‘Thrive’ provision and work to build trusting relationships with children and families to support them to make the transition back into mainstream school, or specialist provision if appropriate. We collaborate with our mainstream partners across North Somerset and are developing an exciting outreach programme, which has been positively welcomed by the schools with whom we have worked. This involves supporting students who are still attending their mainstream setting on a 1:1 or small group basis for intervention sessions at the VLC.
You will be joining an experienced, highly skilled and collaborative team of teachers, with a supportive Senior Leadership Team and Management Committee. There are a range of opportunities for professional development, including work with colleagues in our secondary PRU and medical tuition.
We strongly urge anyone interested in applying to come and visit the school (once described to us as “an afternoon of magic”!) to meet the team and see us in action.
Voyage Learning Campus is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We particularly welcome applications from under represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
